Helmut Palla’s twisted, surreal chairs at Vienna Design Week

1 > 10 October is Vienna Design Week. One exhibition that has caught our eye is artist/designer Helmut Palla’s ‘You take a seat, I take a picture’.

Held at Vienna Academy of Fine Arts Atelierhaus, the show will be focused on his intriguing, and often amusing, reworkings of chairs. It will investigate ‘sitting limits, multi-dimensional sitting, functional sitting, around-the-corner sitting, the bond between seat and seat-taker’. And if you’re still sitting comfortably, check out Sally Jeffery’s piece about chairs for children here.
